Be wary about ‘bank inspector’ calls Print E-mail
This is similar to the credit card scam. A caller claims to be an inspector or official from your bank, saying an audit is being done on your account.

The caller asks you for specific banking information, including your personal bank account numbers, credit card expiry dates and passwords. By giving him your personal data, the con artist "inspects" your account and withdraws all your money.

Advice: If the caller really were a bank officer, he or she would have your banking information already. Tell the "inspector" to give you a number and you'll call back. Make sure the number he gives you is an actual number of your financial institution. If it isn't, call your bank.
