Application notice for Gulf residents |

|
Many people living in the six GCC states and Yemen who wish to apply
for immigration to Canada will now have their applications processed in
Abu Dhabi rather than London.
The change, announced by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), affects only new applications in specific permanent resident categories filed after January 1, 2006.
In a statement, CIC said the change was made to provide more convenient service to these clients.
The GCC countries comprise Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. Applications from Yemen will also be clubbed with these countries.
The applications that will henceforth be processed in Abu Dhabi are:
- Family Class (all categories)
- Protected Persons
- Quebec Cases (all categories)
- Provincial Nominees
- Dependants of the Live-in Caregiver Class in Canada
All persons in the economic class will continue to submit their applications to London. Applications in other categories filed before January 1, 2006, will also be processed in London.
